Doug’s sister Paula loves cats and she always seems to have a few cats of her own and stray cats she has taken in. One of her cats had kittens so I drove to Lehi to take a look. We picked out Frostie. Whitney named the cat Frostie. None really knew the orgin of the name Frostie or why Whitney chose that name, but that is what the cat was known by.

Frostie was with us through many moves. We lived in the house in West Jordan when we got her as a kitten.

Rachel loved Frostie and took every chance to “love” her.

Frostie was still a teenager when we moved to Dugway. Rachel and Frostie became “friends”.

In Dugway Frostie promptly got pregnant and had a large batch of kittens.

We were worried that we would not be able to find homes for her kittens as the Army base was only about 1500 people. But word of her amazing talent spread like wild fire through the community.

Dugway was infested with voles. They are like a mouse, but they get in your lawn like a mole. That causes huge problems because when you live on a army base, it your lawn is not perfect you will get a ticket. And tickets are not good. Frostie dug up and ate all of the voles in our yard, then so started on the next yard. Our street had the best looking lawns on the base.When she had kittens people would come to see them and put in their order.

Then we moved to Evanston, here Frostie learned that winters at 30 degrees below zero were not fun, but eating jack rabbits was very fun. She had one litter of kittens while we lived there.

When we moved to Westport, she loved to climb a big tree in our front yard,get on the roof and jump in our bedroom window. It was in Westposrt that Frostie ran away to escape her evil sons. We had just had her fixed, so maybe she was mad about that, too. We sure did miss her.
